David is the Managing Partner of BRC Capital, LLC and the co-founder of BRC Advisors Inc. and BRC Management Services. David is a 15 year commercial real estate veteran with a background in real estate finance, syndications, direct equity investments and asset management. He is responsible for the acquisition, due diligence, financing and asset management of the portfolio. To date, he has syndicated 17 multi-family and industrial projects across Southern California. 12 have been sold with a realized 1.4x total return on invested capital and a 29% average IRR.

Most recently, Mr. Takakawa was also Vice President of Union Bank of California’s Commercial Mortgage Division where he was the top loan originator in each of the past five years. David was responsible for new loan origination, structuring, underwriting and credit recommendations. He has closed over 600 commercial real estate loans totaling $1.4 billion throughout the Western US including:

  • Structured finance and mezzanine debt for value add projects
  • Multi-asset revolving lines of credit
  • Tenant-In-Common (TIC) Sponsors and Public REITs
  • Customized swap and other derivative hedging products

Prior to joining Union Bank, David was Vice President in Bank of America’s Commercial Mortgage Conduit Group where he was the top producer nationally in each of his last three years. Mr. Takakawa earned his BA from UCLA.
